This recipe was given to me when we went to Mackenzies Smoke House, in Blubberhouses, near Harrogate. They produce superb smoked salmon, among other smoked products. Well worth a visit.

Ingredients

  • 200g smoked salmon, cut into pieces.

  • 100g cream cheese.

  • 100g crème fraiche.

  • 1 tbls lemon juice.

  • 1 tbls horseradish sauce.

  • 2 tsps fresh dill (chopped)

  • Ground pepper to taste.

Directions

  • Mix all the ingredients in a food processor or blender.

  • Blend until smooth. Put into pots.

  • Scatter dill over the salmon pate and chill in the fridge.

  • Serve with rounds of toast, or good quality bread and butter.
